Why I felt called to give Tantric massage

The healing power of receiving conscious touch

I have spent over two decades teaching Pilates, much of it one to one, and mostly to women.

I've gradually come to recognise how many women seem not to feel good enough. Whether in their work, or as a Mum, or as a wife or partner - perhaps all of these things. I can only assume that our society and culture presents a picture of the perfect woman that is an unattainable fantasy. The result, I've observed, can often be that many women, however successful and accomplished, maintain a

feeling that they are unworthy of care, compassion, even love.

My own journey of spiritual development and Tantra has taught me that we are all divine, and all deserve unconditional love - from ourselves as well as others. And one of the keys to loving ourselves is to truly know ourselves, to be fully authentic.

There is a lot of talk in the Tantra world about orgasms, and becoming multi-orgasmic. For me, a woman discovering her own orgasm (for it is in her, and is not anyone else's to give) is a wonderful gift but may be unrelated to reconnecting with or remembering her authentic self.

So my purpose in offering Tantric massage and Yoni massage is to provide the environment, to hold the space and be non-judgemental witness to a woman who feels safe to be profoundly herself.

An embodied experience, like a slow and caring, conscious massage can overwhelm the mind's stories of unworthiness, and begin to write a new story.

It is a strange thing to feel called to offer a service that is so challenging for so many to hear about, especially as a man working with women. Of course, there are many female practitioners working with women in a very similar way, whose clients may enjoy similar outcomes. I don't believe that it has to be done by a man. At the same time I believe, as is often taught, that there may be deeper healing of some wounds through the polarity of male giver and female.receiver. I also believe that there is something special, valuable in a woman having the experience of meeting, acknowledging and embracing  her true, radiant self in the presence of a man and knowing that she, this self,  is welcome and loved by man, unconditionally and without expectation.
